HI everyone, I am in the midst of organizing a Linux LAN party.
This will be held in a month or two.
This LAN party will mainly focus on games available for Linux.
Windows users are welcome to join because there are some games that are trans-platform compatible so both of the camps can play on the same network.
I probably will need some people to help me organize this event.
I am still working out on the kinks on where the location of the LAN will be.
I am no stranger to LAN parties. I have been to many LAN parties since 2002.
Any ideas you would like to add? just reply.
*I am a BIG fan of first -Person-shooters (DOOM3, UT2K4 and UT3, Quake, Open Arena, etc.) and most LAN parties are based around this, however a LAN party can be open to many types of games.
Spread the word, Laredo is going to have a LAN party and EVERYONES invited.

HI everyone, I was hoping that we can get something like a plan for events that this group holds.
More like a flexible plan. I am thinking of a plan for LUG meetings.
The first LUG (already here 03/08/2008) maybe an intro one.
I think this is where everybody introduces themselves and explain what this LUG and group is about.
Also to explain the importance of Linux and Open-Source in general. And of course the rest of the meeting/event will be demos of Linux and HOW-TO's.
Also I will be making distro copies of Ubuntu and put artistic covers on the discs (as soon as I get my GIMP skills working again).
I am also working on a logo for Laredo Linux. I am open to suggestions if anyone has some.
I think this is a great time and opportunity for Linux to grow in this town.
Oh yeah, by the way, most of my cousins here work for Laredo Police Dept.
I was speaking to one of my cousins and he is colleagues with the head IT guy at the Laredo Police Dept. He says I can speak with him regarding Linux.
Maybe I can forward that IT lead to Loye and see if something can be worked out where Linux is used in Police dept.
Feel free to comment.
